Enterprise Lowestoft cic - one of the first community interest companies established in England – is dedicated to raising aspirations and enterprising outlooks in the young people of Lowestoft, Waveney district and countrywide.
Being a Community Interest Company is important to us as we seek to invest time, energy and the profits the company makes into the community out of which we have arisen.
We work for and with a variety of businesses and agencies at local, regional and national level seeking to find opportunities to:
- Raise the level of empowered and
engaged young people
- Promote entrepreneurial activity for the
young (and the not-so-young)
- Support and stimulate local regeneration
- Engage in positive dialogues with all parts of the community and build bridges between interested parties

YES is an exciting new project for budding entrepreneurs aged 15 -19 in Waveney. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for young people to develop the right tools to enter the world of enterprise. It will fast track young people and develop their strengths in an innovative way. They will be guided through a journey of self discovery and have their eyes opened to new opportunities. The project draws on the extensive experience and enthusiasm of a panel of successful entrepreneurs who have worked with Enterprise Lowestoft cic to create this first class opportunity for young people in Waveney.

Enterprise Lowestoft CIC, working with Arup and the Department for Communities and Local Government, supported by DEFRA, the DSCF, the SSAT, BERR and the Make Your Mark Campaign have developed a national competition for schools which involves young people in designing aspects of environmentally low impact new communities. Schools all over the country will be taking part and all regional finalists will be invited to London to an awards ceremony. The competition gives young people the chance to form a youth advisory council to inform government thinking and, for some of them, the chance to see their ideas modelled professionally. Watch the press for the competition launch! |
